“WITH COACH TO COAST”: a very special road trip

Bus driver and influencer Magne Håheim sets out on his road trip from Munich to the Mediterranean in the MAN Lion’s Coach, facing great challenges along the way. There will be a new episode on the MAN social media channels every 14 days.

Summer is here at last! For most people, that means getting out into the world and discovering new places. And that’s just what Magne Håheim is doing – the photographer from Oslo is a dyed-in-the-wool bus freak and this year has no appetite for the 18-degree outdoor temperatures and rain. To make his escape from the Norwegian weather, he has asked MAN to help. With the MAN Lion's Coach model year 2024, the photographer and YouTuber starts a road trip full of challenges from Munich to the Mediterranean.

In the new video series, “With Coach to Coast”, Magne Håheim embarks on a 700-kilometre trip to his dream destination, Italy. His starting point is Munich, home to MAN’s headquarters and its main production plant. From there, the journey continues to Lake Achen and Innsbruck, and then on to Verona, Bologna and Pisa. It’s a wonderful route for Magne, who describes himself as an absolute bus enthusiast: “I grew up in Oslo, but my family is from western Norway, 500 kilometres away from Oslo,” explains the 35-year-old Norwegian. “My mother often took me there on the bus to visit. My uncle also has a truck business, so buses and trucks have always been a key part of my life”!

His passion for buses and trucks eventually led Magne to his current job as a landscape and automotive photographer and YouTuber. MAN is now giving him the opportunity to test the MAN Lion’s Coach model year 2024 on the open road, and to see its latest features for himself. The steep mountain roads and narrow streets in Italy are enough to bring any bus driver out in a cold sweat. Will the bus survive all the challenges? The MAN AttentionGuard is certainly in demand on the tour through the Alps: the assistance system identifies changes to driving behaviour and uses screen warnings and audible alarms to ensure that the driver’s concentration returns to the road.
